Signal disc protector for rupture disc monitoring
Maximum sensor protection. Highest process reliability. Zero unplanned downtime.
The two-part stainless steel housing holds the signal disc and sensor with a precise fit. The bolted construction reliably protects delicate components from mechanical stress, installation errors and corrosion.
Your benefits at a glance:
- Reliable pre-assembly: installed as a ready-made, compact protective package
- Non-destructive maintenance: easy removal and reinstallation for inspection
How it works
-
1
Pre-assemble the sensor
The sensor is placed precisely and time-efficiently in the center of the lower housing half – even in advance, away from the plant.
-
2
Bolt the housing together
The upper half is placed on top and bolted down. Signal disc and sensor are now fixed together securely and protected.
-
3
Integrate into the pipe connection
The compact package is inserted directly into the pipe connection on the pressure vessel and fixed. The integrated cable routing prevents distortion.
-
4
Maintenance & inspection
When the signal disc is inspected, the system stays absolutely sterile – unlike with a combination disc.
Maintenance benefits:
- Fully non-destructive: the signal disc can be removed as a complete package, inspected and put back in – nothing gets damaged.
- Integrated cable protection: sensor and cable stay protected in the housing; nothing is kinked or pinched.
- Maximum time savings: makes future inspections and maintenance much easier.

Video 1: The problem without protection
Broken sensor tracks caused by bending, tension and chemicals – and why this can cause expensive downtime.

Why the protection is needed, how the signal disc is simply inserted and bolted, and how the finished package is installed in the pipe.

In operation
Installed in the plant via a pipe connection within the piping system.
Eliminating typical failure causes
The signal disc reliably detects when a rupture disc has burst. If this signal fails because of cable or sensor damage, unplanned plant downtime and gaps in process records are the result. Our housing protects against the four most common sources of failure:
Assembly errors prevented
The defined housing geometry prevents jamming and damage during installation.
No cable breakage at the sensor transition
A guided cable feed-through prevents the cable from twisting or kinking when the connection is tightened.
Protection against insulation damage & corrosion
The cable cannot be pinched between sealing surfaces. The insulation stays intact and corrosion caused by moisture is prevented.
Effective strain relief
Mechanical tension and bending loads are safely absorbed before they reach the delicate transition between sensor and cable.
Your benefits at a glance
Risk-free inspection
Safe removal, inspection and reassembly of the entire package without damaging the sensor or the seal.
Lasting wiring protection
The sensor wiring stays protected in the long term against mechanical influences, cable breakage and corrosion.
Efficient pre-assembly
The sensor is inserted beforehand. In the plant, only one compact package has to be installed.
Stainless steel design
Made entirely of high-quality stainless steel. Other materials and designs are available on request.
Sensor-independent system
Can in principle be used for any sensor as soon as its dimensions are known.
Separate design of rupture disc and signal disc
Rupture disc and signal disc can be separated. This considerably simplifies the wiring, since it does not have to be done directly at the often tightly packed vessel but can be routed flexibly further out along the piping.

Who it's for
For all operators and plant builders who want to reliably monitor a pressure vessel with a rupture disc – especially in industries with the highest demands on process reliability (such as the pharmaceutical and food industries), where pressure vessels and hygienic pipe connections are standard.
- Pressure vessels protected by rupture discs
- Signal disc for detecting when a rupture disc has burst
- Process plants with pipe and flange connections
Compatibility & custom manufacture
The protector can in principle be designed for any sensor and any type of connection. We only need the following information:
- Dimensions of the sensor
- Type and nominal size of the connection (e.g. tri-clamp, flange connection, etc.)
- Sealing surface, if it does not correspond to a standard gasket
